{"id":3541,"date":"2016-10-01T01:08:14","date_gmt":"2016-10-01T00:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/assistrr.org\/?p=3541"},"modified":"2016-10-01T01:10:19","modified_gmt":"2016-10-01T00:10:19","slug":"solihull-school-raises-funds-to-ptk-rctm-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assistrr.org\/?p=3541","title":{"rendered":"Solihull School raises funds for a building to PTK RCTM School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Solihull Junior School Headmaster, Mr Mark Penney, visited North of Sri Lanka with Assist RR Trustees in July. During his visit, Assist RR Trustees took him and his family\u00a0to Puthukudiyiruppu (PTK)\u00a0Roman Catholic Tamil\u00a0Mixed School (RCTMS)\u00a0to show him\u00a0the two-storey building that was rebuilt in April 2014\u00a0by Assist RR with funding from a family in Malaysia\u00a0with roots in Urumpirai. When we went there,\u00a0the Acting\u00a0Principal of the school, Sister Yaso James,\u00a0invited us to witness a dilapidated temporary shelter that is being used for four\u00a0classrooms. The shelter was in a very bad condition and in an urgent\u00a0need\u00a0of replacement. An\u00a0engineer felt that the shelter should not be used, as it was\u00a0structurally\u00a0unsafe. A few\u00a0photos\u00a0of this\u00a0shelter is given below.\u00a0Mr Penney was taken aback by the conditions under\u00a0which children were\u00a0learning and felt very sorry for them.
